Awards are easy to hand out. Winning the same one seven years in a row from the same publication is not. Here’s the actual record, not just the highlight reel.

Trusted on the Major Wedding Marketplaces
I advertised on The Knot and WeddingWire for years, and picked up their Couples’ Choice and Best of Weddings type badges along the way. I won’t pretend those took much. Pay for the advertising, collect enough reviews, and the badge is basically automatic. There’s no panel, no comparison against other DJs, no bar to clear beyond showing up and not embarrassing yourself. Every paying advertiser who hits the review threshold gets one.
Still, the numbers themselves are real, and I won every year I was eligible. The Knot: 4.9 out of 5 stars, 75 reviews, five-time “Best of Weddings” winner (2021, 2022, 2023, and two earlier years), and a Hall of Fame recipient. WeddingWire: 5.0 out of 5, 67 reviews, and a Couples’ Choice Award every year from 2019 through 2023. I ended my paid advertising on both platforms after the 2023 season, which is why the streak stops there, not because I stopped winning.
The awards I value most are different. AZ Foothills Magazine, Arizona Bride’s Best DJ, and Wedding Rule are judged. Somebody compared me against other DJs in a real field and decided I stood out. That’s the distinction that matters to me: not recognition for showing up, but recognition by my peers for being someone who exceeds expectations. I’ve also sat in as a panelist for the DJ Collective and serve as one of their ambassadors for first-time attendees.
One Tucson-area venue’s coordinator put it this way: “Thomas Dean is hands down the most professional DJ I have ever met… He excels at introductions, announcements, and adapts to your guests to keep them dancing… Without a doubt, Thomas Dean is the DJ you are looking for.”
Featured In
Awards are one kind of recognition. Getting asked to talk about the business is another. Four independent publications have featured Thomas Dean and Elite Mobile Entertainment directly:
- Shoutout Arizona, “Meet DJ Thomas Dean: Bespoke Wedding & Private Event DJ” (2024)
- Voyage Phoenix, “Exploring Life & Business with Thomas Dean of Elite Mobile Entertainment LLC”
- CanvasRebel Magazine, “Meet DJ Thomas Dean” (2024)
- Bold Journey, “Meet Thomas Dean”
None of this changes how I show up to your wedding. I still sit down with every couple and build the night from scratch. But if you’re comparing DJs and wondering whether the reviews and the trophies are just marketing, this is the actual paper trail behind them.
